Level 1
 

This level is designed for new swimmers who need help establishing the fundamentals, perfect for beginners to swimming.

Goals:

self submerging

entry and exiting water

balance in the water

Introducing:

back floats with support

front glides with support

what is a point of safety

 

 

 

 

 

Level 2

This level for students who have already progressed through the Level 1, or already possess the skills taught in Level 1.

Goals:

Back float with support for 10 seconds

glide with face in to instructor

identify points of safety in the pool

introduction to lifejackets and PFDs

Introducing:

submarines

jumping with support

movement in water using noodles for support

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

Level 3

This level for students who have already progressed through the Level 2, or already possess the skills taught in Level 2.

Goals:

Back float for 10 seconds

front glide for 7-10 ft

submarine letting go of wall and returning to wall

roll from front to back and back to front

Introducing:

floating in lifejacket or PFD

BOBS

independent jumps

swimming to bottom for toys

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Level 4

This level for students who have already progressed through the Level 3, or already possess the skills taught in Level 3.

Goals:

back glide with kick 10-15 ft

front glide with kick breathing at least once 10-15 ft

BOBS in shallow water to point of safety

jump in PFD to extended back float

Jump and go to point of safety

Introducing:

treading arms

free style arms and side breathing

backstroke

elementary backstroke arms

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Level 5

This level for students who have already progressed through the Level 4, or already possess the skills taught in Level 4.

Goals:

free style with 3 side breaths

backstroke 15-20 ft

jump in PFD go to point of safety to exit

jump and go to point of safety using bobs

knee dives

Introducing:

Elementary backstroke legs

dolphin kick

surface dives

treading kick and coordinating full tread

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Level 6

This level for students who have already progressed through the Level 5, or already possess the skills taught in Level 5.

Goals:

free style 50 ft

backstroke 50 ft

elementary backstroke 30 ft

surface dive to 7 ft 

treading water 1 minute 

standing dives

 

Introducing:

butterfly

breaststroke kick

breaststroke arms

streamlines from wall

open turns

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Level 7

This level for students who have already progressed through the Level 6, or already possess the skills taught in Level 6.

Goals:

open water swimming

treading 5 minutes

jump and swim 60 ft

dive and swim 60 ft

disrobing in full clothes and shoes

Reach or Throw, Don't Go

Introducing:

switching strokes while swimming

flips in water

dive into streamline

gliding timing in each stroke

This level for students who have already progressed through the Level 7, or already possess the skills taught in Level 7.
